Upgrade the dash in your 1988-1994 Chevrolet or GMC truck, SUV, Suburban, Yukon, or compatible C/K platform with the Dakota Digital VHX-88C-PU VHX Gauge Kit. Designed as a direct-fit replacement for the factory instrument cluster and lens assembly, this system gives your classic GM interior a clean modern look while adding precise electronic gauge performance, bright LED backlighting, and easy-to-read digital information displays.
The VHX Series uses fully lit needles, backlit gauge faces, dual LCD message centers, micro-controlled stepper motors, and solid-state sensors to deliver accurate readings and a high-end custom appearance. The billet aluminum housing and optical-grade polycarbonate lenses replace the original cluster assembly for a finished installation that looks purpose-built for 1988-1994 Chevy and GMC applications.
This Dakota Digital gauge system displays speed, RPM, oil pressure, water temperature, fuel level, voltage, odometer, dual trip meters, clock, estimated range, performance timers, high-speed recall, and high-RPM recall. The LCD message centers are auto-contrasting for daylight visibility, while LED lighting improves nighttime readability and complements the upgraded dash appearance. Built-in indicators support turn signals, high beam, check engine, parking brake, cruise control when equipped, 4x4 when equipped, and wait-to-start when equipped. Gear position display is available with the optional GSS-3000 sensor.
The kit includes a water temperature sensor, oil pressure sensor, cable-driven speed sensor, required sensor harnesses, NPT bushings, 12mm and 16mm thread bushings, control box, and push-button controls for setup and calibration. The push-button interface lets you configure speedometer calibration, cylinder count, fuel level settings, display functions, and other system settings directly through the gauge system.
Optional Dakota Digital add-ons can expand the system for different builds, including dimming control, OBD-II interface, Holley EFI interface, universal speed and tach signal interface, fan controller, gear position sensor, and GPS speed/compass sender. These options make the VHX-88C-PU a strong choice for restored trucks, restomod builds, engine swaps, EFI conversions, and custom C/K pickups that need modern instrumentation with a factory-style fit.
